As a great way to launch our TV Studio and also kick-start creative film maker clubs, we sent out the poster (below) to the 16 secondary schools in the borough. With only three weeks to the deadline, 4 schools came through with embryonic clubs and three managed to meet the final deadline and send in a three minute film for our film matinee.

The finalist schools taking part were:

Balby Carr (BCCSC), Hall Cross and Danum Schools.

The films the students made were along the lines of teenage bullying, knife crimes and social responsibility. Balby Carr’s film used one of the students’ poems as the basis for the narrative. Hall Cross’ film used cyber-bullying, text message name calling and physical bullying to make its’ point. Danum’s film took on the style of a ‘Crimewatch’-like TV programme with studio pieces topping and tailing simulated TV reports.
