DB8 @ South CLC

By admin, May 25, 2010 10:12 am

Suitable for Year 8 or Year 9 to visit the CLC for the day. They will gain the help of ‘professional debate’ mentors from Universities nationally courtesy of Debate Mate, a national charity. Mentors are recruited from university debating societies, all of whom have taken part in national and international competitions.

Debate is a statutory requirement of the National Curriculum and serves as an invaluable tool in the classroom.

On-going programme

We will supply you with the resources to create further video debate sessions at school for potential inclusion in our viewtube website. Your students can then take on the role of debate mentors in your school and encourage further skill development in other young people.

All of your students are eligible to enter the Richard Koch Debating Championship in Spring 2011.

There is a cost of just £12 per student. DVDs of your debates will be supplied free of charge.

Debating is routinely available in the private education sector: in association with Debate Mate, our programme will take these skills to where they are most needed and least available.

Download the poster for use in school and more information.
