Film Makers Summer Camp

By admin, July 30, 2010 10:44 am

On location filmingToday saw the completion of our Video production summer camp. Ten students from Doncaster took part in this intensive course (accredited by NCFE to two grade Bs at GCSE). Planning, producing and editing their own movies, the students assembled an online blog as a portfolio of evidence.

Using a combination of different cameras and locations, the students made movies in teams of 3 to 5 based on important issues to them. Their final 10 minute film shows a combination of editing techniques and even incorporates some studio work.

Other skills developed during the course include their IT skills, confidence and team building as well as approaches to the Media industry.

They deserve heaps of praise for their achievements; maybe even a plastic OSCAR!

Well done to the wonderful trainee photographers who qualified on Friday! The year 10 students, who are on their first year of the IT Diploma, have gained a level 2 NCFE certificate equal to a grade B at GCSE. During the course the students have studied Landscape and Portrait photography and gained  studio lighting and computer Photoshop skills.

Everyone who has looked at their exhibition has been pleasantly surprised by the quality of the images and the amount of work needed to produce a portfolio. In the next year of their Diploma, a similar qualification in 3D computer animation is to be followed that is approximate to two GCSEs at grade B.
