Film Makers Summer Camp

By admin, July 30, 2010 10:44 am

On location filmingToday saw the completion of our Video production summer camp. Ten students from Doncaster took part in this intensive course (accredited by NCFE to two grade Bs at GCSE). Planning, producing and editing their own movies, the students assembled an online blog as a portfolio of evidence.

Using a combination of different cameras and locations, the students made movies in teams of 3 to 5 based on important issues to them. Their final 10 minute film shows a combination of editing techniques and even incorporates some studio work.

Other skills developed during the course include their IT skills, confidence and team building as well as approaches to the Media industry.

They deserve heaps of praise for their achievements; maybe even a plastic OSCAR!

NCFE Video Production is one of ourĀ Digital Media Arts projects available at the CLC.

Pennine View Special School

By admin, June 11, 2010 8:12 am

Class 5 from Pennine View Special school attended a TV production here on the 10th June with a focus on performing a TV show about pirates and treasure! After weeks of preparation, the pupils prepared costumes, a script and props for the show. In the morning, they rehearsed the song and dance routines and added jokes to their original script! The TV show itself was filmed in front of green screen to put the actors on the pirate ship and desert island but they got so much more out of the day… hopefully we will be able to work with them again in the near future.
